Build Muscle, Build Life!

Hey SoulShiners,

Strength training is one of the BEST things you can do for your health!! It’s not just about lifting weights or looking fit - it’s about building a foundation for better movement, energy, and longevity. Did you know skeletal muscle is the largest organ in your body? It does everything from balancing hormones and strengthening bones to protecting your brain and heart.

Without regular strength training, we naturally lose muscle as we age, which can lead to weakness, frailty, and even higher risks of chronic illnesses. But here’s the good news: muscle responds to effort. Whether you’re just starting or have been lifting for years, you can grow stronger and healthier at any stage of life!

Ladies, pretty, pretty please don’t let myths stop you from picking up heavier weights. Lifting doesn’t make you bulky - I pinky promise! Instead, it makes you strong, confident, and healthy. Strength training helps balance those fluctuating hormones, prevent osteoporosis, reduce stress, and even boost brain health. Your body is designed to get stronger, and lifting weights helps you live a vibrant, energized life.

Start with enough protein - about 1 gram per pound of body weight daily - and train all major muscle groups each week. Don’t stress about perfection; just try your best to hit that protein goal. If you’ve been using the same size weights in class or at the gym, challenge yourself this week! Gradually increasing weight helps you grow stronger and feel unstoppable. Remember, it’s not just about lifting weights - t’s about lifting your life and building a foundation for health and longevity!

Let’s grow stronger and shine brighter together,

🫂Jody🫂
